ALISON ROLLER-ALLING, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner

(she, her, hers)

Alison graduated with her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in May 2025, specializing in psychiatric mental health. As a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, Alison is deeply passionate about providing holistic, compassionate, and patient-centered care to individuals across the lifespan. She approaches her work with the belief that mental health care should honor the whole person while fostering dignity, collaboration, and trust.

Before entering the field of nursing, Alison spent 12 years working with children and adolescents in psychotherapy and educational programs. This foundation gave her early insight into emotional development, family dynamics, and the importance of early intervention and support. As a registered nurse for nearly ten years, she gained valuable experience in acute care settings, where she managed complex medical and psychosocial situations.

Alison believes that addressing emotional and mental health needs is essential not only for individual well-being but also for the health of families and communities. Through her combined background in nursing and mental health counseling, she has worked with diverse populations, enhancing her understanding of the many ways mental health concerns can present and intersect with medical, social, and environmental factors.

Alison completed her DNP clinical training at Coastal Horizons, Trinity Health and Wellness, and Novant New Hanover Regional Medical Center, where she further developed her skills in psychiatric assessment and treatment planning. Her mission is to understand each client’s unique needs, values, and aspirations, and to partner with them in building a path forward that feels both realistic and empowering.

Her approach to treatment is empathetic and evidence-based, integrating therapeutic interventions with medication management when appropriate. Alison prioritizes education and open dialogue, ensuring that clients feel informed and actively involved in decisions about their care. She strives to create a supportive, collaborative environment where every individual feels heard, respected, and empowered throughout their healing journey.
