Mikayla Alberico is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and the Assistant Treatment and Outreach Coordinator at Chrysalis Center for Counseling and Eating Disorder Treatment. She is dedicated to helping individuals reconnect with themselves, foster self-acceptance, and create meaningful, lasting change. Mikayla earned her Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington and completed her clinical internship at Chrysalis Center, where she later joined the team as a therapist after graduating in 2025.
Mikayla brings experience working with clients across the lifespan, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns including disordered eating, body image distress, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, ADHD, and identity exploration within the LGBTQIA+ community. She has a particular passion for working with adolescents and young adults, helping them navigate the challenges of identity development, emotional regulation, and life transitions with compassion and curiosity.
Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Mikayla’s work is guided by the belief that healing happens through connection, authenticity, and self-compassion. She meets clients where they are, helping them build insight, develop effective coping strategies, and move toward a more grounded sense of self.

She is passionate about helping clients discover their strengths, rewrite their stories, and move toward lives defined by purpose, balance, and self-acceptance.
