CLAIRE HAZARD, MSW, LCSW-A
Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate
(she, her, hers)
Claire Hazard is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate who is passionate about helping individuals reclaim their lives, strengthen self-understanding, and cultivate lasting well-being. She earned her Master of Social Work from Syracuse University and completed her clinical internship at Chrysalis Center for Counseling and Eating Disorder Treatment, where she later joined the team as a therapist after graduating in 2025.
Claire’s clinical work is grounded in curiosity, compassion, and respect for each person’s unique story. She has experience working with eating disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), trauma, anxiety, depression, and the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ clients. She is committed to creating a therapeutic environment that feels inclusive and collaborative, where clients can safely explore their emotions and move toward meaningful change.
Her therapeutic style is warm, client-centered, and integrative, blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. Claire works to help clients identify unhelpful patterns, build resilience, and reconnect with their values. She believes healing unfolds through safety and connection—and she strives to help clients develop both within and beyond the therapy room.
In her work with clients navigating eating disorders and body image concerns, Claire uses a recovery-oriented, weight-inclusive approach that promotes self-compassion and sustainable healing. She also finds fulfillment in supporting clients through life transitions, identity development, and recovery from perfectionism and shame-based patterns.
Claire is deeply committed to ongoing learning and professional growth. She values collaboration and consultation, believing that high-quality care is strengthened through shared knowledge and perspective. Her dedication to staying informed about emerging research and best practices allows her to provide thoughtful, evidence-based care that evolves alongside her clients’ needs.
Claire views therapy as a collaborative journey, one that empowers clients to rediscover hope, strength, and a deeper sense of self. At Chrysalis Center, she embodies the organization’s mission of restoring hope and empowering change, helping individuals cultivate balance, authenticity, and confidence in their healing process.
