  • The hallmark of our practice is our comprehensive eating disorder program. We treat the full spectrum of eating disorders, including:

    • Anorexia Nervosa

    • Atypical Anorexia

    • Avoidant and Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID)

    • Bulimia Nervosa

    • Binge Eating Disorder

    • Night Eating Syndrome

    • Otherwise Specified Feeding and Eating Disorder (OSFED)

    • Post-operative eating disorders following metabolic and bariatric surgery


    Our team addresses not only the eating disorder but also the underlying conditions that often accompany it.


    Our comprehensive eating disorder treatment services include:

    • Specialized assessments

    • Personalized treatment plans (individual, family, and group therapy)

    • On-site nutrition counseling and meal support

    • Collaboration with external providers and higher levels of care

    • A structured Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) offered four days per week


    We are proud to have Certified Eating Disorder Specialists (CEDS) on staff through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), with several others currently pursuing the credential.


  • At Chrysalis Center, we provide specialized, compassionate care for individuals navigating the impact of trauma and post-traumatic stress. Whether someone is coping with a single event or chronic, complex trauma, we understand how trauma can affect every aspect of a person’s life—including relationships, emotional regulation, physical health, and overall functioning.


    We treat a range of trauma-related conditions, including:

    • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

    • Complex trauma and developmental trauma

    • Dissociation and depersonalization

    • Grief and traumatic loss

    • Sexual abuse and assault

    • Childhood neglect and emotional abuse

    • Trauma linked with eating disorders, substance use, or relationship patterns


    Our trauma treatment is attachment-informed, client-centered, and grounded in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Written Exposure Therapy, and somatic approaches.


    For individuals needing more structure and support, we offer a dedicated Trauma-Focused Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). This program includes:

    • A supportive, structured setting for adults navigating complex trauma

    • Group therapy sessions focused on emotion regulation, relational healing, and grounding skills

    • Individual therapy and psychiatric care, as needed

    • Integration of nutrition, mindfulness, and expressive therapies

    • A flexible schedule to allow continued engagement in daily life while receiving intensive support


    Our trauma-focused IOP is designed for individuals stepping down from higher levels of care or needing more than once-weekly outpatient therapy. The goal is to reduce trauma symptoms, strengthen coping skills, and help clients move forward with clarity, stability, and hope.


  • Our registered dietitians provide compassionate, individualized care that supports both physical and emotional well-being. We take a non-diet, weight-inclusive approach, helping clients explore their relationship with food and develop sustainable eating habits.


    Our nutrition counseling services include:

    • Individual and family nutrition counseling

    • Grocery store tours and meal outings

    • On-site meal support and nutrition groups

    • MedGem weight management solutions

    • DNA testing for wellness plans

    • Pre- and post-bariatric nutrition education


    Our goal is to help clients rediscover the joy of eating, nourish their bodies with confidence, and feel empowered to make food choices that align with their values.


  • We are a regional leader in mental health and nutritional care related to bariatric surgery. In partnership with local surgeons and Novant Medical Center, a designated Center of Excellence, our team helps clients achieve successful surgical outcomes while supporting their long-term emotional and behavioral health.


    Our bariatric support services include:

    • Preoperative psychological evaluations

    • Pre- and post-op nutrition education and counseling

    • Therapy for pre- and post-surgical adjustment

    • Group counseling through our BARI Well (Bariatric Aftercare and Recovery Initiative) program

    • Intensive outpatient treatment for postoperative eating disorders


    As eating disorder specialists, we recognize the importance of identifying and treating disordered eating both before and after bariatric surgery. Our approach is nonjudgmental, inclusive, and rooted in collaboration with clients and their medical teams.
