Lisa Milliger is an ANCC Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered mental health care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Duke University and her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

With more than 14 years of experience in the mental health field, Lisa has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including outpatient, inpatient, and university counseling environments. This diverse background has shaped her skilled, integrative approach to personalized psychiatric care that considers the biological, psychological, and social factors influencing mental health.

Lisa’s professional interests include working with young adults within a developmental framework, addressing the biopsychosocial basis of mental health conditions, and reducing mental illness–related health disparities. She is also deeply interested in the relationship between belief systems, values, and health-related behaviors, recognizing the ways these intersect with emotional wellness and recovery.

Her treatment style is collaborative and empowering, emphasizing open communication, psychoeducation, and the development of safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship. Lisa believes that healing occurs when clients feel both informed and actively involved in their care. She partners closely with clients to create individualized treatment plans that align with their values, strengths, and long-term goals.

Lisa is passionate about providing evidence-based, holistic psychiatric care, with particular expertise in trauma-informed treatment and eating disorder–related psychiatric wellness. She approaches her work with warmth, curiosity, and respect for each client’s unique journey, helping individuals build insight, resilience, and a renewed sense of balance.

At Chrysalis Center for Counseling and Eating Disorder Treatment, Lisa embodies the organization’s mission of restoring hope and empowering change, offering thoughtful, integrative care that supports both healing and growth.
