Dr. Matthew Kalp, MD, PhD
MEDICAL DIRECTOR
Dr. Matthew Kalp is a neurologist with special interest in behavioral neurology, a subspecialty of neurology that focuses on the basis of behavior, memory, and cognition. He provides inpatient and outpatient care at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Dr. Kalp earned a BS in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame and continued his graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University to earn a PhD in biochemistry as well as an MD. He completed a neurology residency and additional post-doctoral training at Yale University/Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Dr. Kalp is board certified in psychiatry and neurology and has received the Standard of Excellence from the National Board of Medical Examiners. He has published multiple papers and articles on neurology and biochemistry as well as teaching undergraduates and post-graduate students.
Dr. Kalp is currently a member of the American Academy of Neurology and the North Carolina Medical and Neurological Societies. He serves as the medical director of Chrysalis Center IOP by providing medical oversight, supervision, and training for the organization, as well as collaborating on high risk cases when medical complications arise.
In his spare time, Dr. Kalp enjoys traveling to new and exciting places across the globe.
